If you want to reach the maximum burning time of your candle, you should pay attention to a few things.

The Wick

For example, it is recommended to shorten the wick of the candle to 0.5-1.0 cm before each burn,so that the candle can burn regularly and excessive soot formation is prevented.

The burning time

The burning time also plays an important role in burning a candle. A distinction is made between glass candles and moulded candles.

If you extinguish the flame too early when burning a glass candle, you will get a tunnel around the wick and end up with a lot of wax on the edge of the glass. In order to achieve the long possible burning time, one should leave one candle at least until the top layer of candle has liquefied to the edge.

With the moulded candles, it’s the other way around. If the candle is burned for too long, there is a risk that the mould will break open and the wax will leak out. Therefore, it is recommended to take half-hour stages.
